In 1984, our founder, David Ruoff, decided it was time to make a lifelong dream a reality. Having worked in the residential mortgage industry for several different companies since 1959, he knew there was a better way to meet the financial needs of our community. So the Dave Ruoff Mortgage Co. was started in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The name later changed to Ruoff Mortgage Company, Inc. and in 2009 the same entity began doing business as Ruoff Home Mortgage.

Ruoff is proud to be a family-owned business. In 2007, son-in-law Mark Music joined the business as the new president. Mark assumed the roles of President, Owner, and CEO in 2012 when Dave Ruoff officially retired. Mark was recently ranked as one of the 100 Most Influential Executives in the Nation by Mortgage Executive Magazine. Continuing the legacy of family leadership, Mark announced his son, Blake, as President in 2023. Blake’s ten-year tenure with the company helps to drive a heightened level of collaboration to better serve our customers while also enhancing the employee experience. Under their leadership and direction, Ruoff Mortgage is ranked as a number one mortgage lender in Indiana and one of the fastest-growing companies in the country. In the last 10 years, we’ve grown from 18 employees in northeast Indiana to 800+ employees company-wide.
Our corporate headquarters remains in Fort Wayne with an experienced and knowledgeable team comprised of Operations, Marketing, IT, Finance and HR professionals. With the addition of Ruoff’s online division, Consumer Direct Loans, the company now reaches homebuyers in 36 states and continues to grow.
That being said, Ruoff Mortgage is most proud of the business and community partnerships grown throughout our 40 years in business. We continue to make the dream of homeownership a reality and to welcome our thousands of happy homebuyers into the Ruoff family.
