I began my career in lending in 1985 in the area of consumer finance. During that time I was engaged in Branch Management for a financial services company and opened three branches for them. In 2000, I left consumer finance and started to focus solely on mortgages. I specialize in all the major conforming mortgage products and have additional expertise in down payment assistance programs and first time homebuyers.

I'm a military veteran of 22 years. I started in the US Marines in 1980 and ended my career in 2004 holding the rank of Command Sergeant Major in the Army National Guard. During that time, I was deployed to Lebanon in 1983 and to Iraq in 2003. I also spent 10 years as a volunteer for the Department of Defense helping Guardsman and Reservists maintain quality employment.

I believe in giving back to the community, so I'm also engaged as an affiliate member of the UPSTAR Association of Realtors through Ruoff Mortgage and received the Affiliate of the year honors in 2012. Again in 2014, I received the UPSTAR award for special projects for my help in building a new home for a disabled veteran. In 2015, I was awarded the Fraternal Order of Police Business Award for my work in raising funds and awareness of police initiatives such as Helmets for Kids, Victims Assistance and Shop with a Cop for Christmas. I also participate in several Veterans related organizations. I'm an active member of the American Legion and the VFW. I've also contributed efforts with the local Shrine.
